In these turbulent times for the Church, Mary is who we need to keep us focused on Jesus. Ray Sullivan and I have a lively discussion about the state of our Church, Marian Consecration, advice for sharing the Faith, and pan dulce!
Ray, an author for Catholic Stand and founder of the website MaryAndTheEucharist.org, was born in San Antonio and raised on a ranch between Boerne and Comfort. He went to Texas A&M on a math scholarship and graduated from Texas A&M with a BS degree in Industrial Engineering. Ray moved to Houston where he worked for NASA in Mission Control for the Flight Surgeons, as well as a project engineer on the Spacelab Program. After several years, Ray moved back to San Antonio and worked at Brooks AFB as a project engineer, then at Kelly AFB as a C-5 Engineering Supervisor, then at Randolph AFB as a Quality Engineer in Electronic Warfare, and then at Lackland AFB in Civil Engineering. After retiring from Civil Service in 2013, Ray taught Geometry at Our Lady of the Atonement Academy for 3 years. Now, Ray enjoys tutoring math students online and in-person. Ray is married to Cathleen, with 2 grown children, Paul and Rosemary, and 2 dogs, Dakota and Vinnie the Wonder Dog. He has been a parishioner of St. Matthew’s for 37 years.
